This includes transit buses, school cargo buses, buses for cargo and shuttles. EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle that offers a lot of personalization. It's also fully FTA certified and Buy America compliant. More Material offers class-leading range, ADA wheelchair provisions, and cargo delivery configurations. EV Star GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete line of heavy and medium-duty all-electric vehicles, including lower-floor and high-floor models. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can be used to accommodate many different body designs and upgrades for a variety of applications. The platform's clean sheet design allows for the optimal placement of battery packs and lower center of gravity resulting in better payload-to-range ratios. The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The class 4 refrigerated trucks with a single wall structure inside, and higher insulation than conventional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer service life. The EV Star REEFERX has a higher capacity for cargo, and an industry-leading payload to reach the range of zero-emission freight or passenger transport. GreenPower has collaborated with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to quickly transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be capable of wireless charging at 75 kW. We had the opportunity to test the EV9 for several hours on a local highway and found it easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The ride is smooth and smooth over bumps and ruts, and the EV9 does an excellent job of suppressing wind and road noise on the highway. The acceleration is quite fast and the car has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow “one pedal driving” by simply lifting off of the accelerator. The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully recharged in just three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two modes of operation: eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode is a great way to increase torque, cruise control and handling, while sport mode increases speed. In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicle offerings including a multi-purpose all-electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, micro-transit, transit vanpool, bus, or paratransit vehicle. GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of older diesel vehicles with 100 electric vehicles. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demand of the Biden Administration who is planning to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This will make them eligible for federal transit grants.
